Our client seeks a design engineer at their suburban Chicago headquarters to design new products and modify existing machines using SolidWorks. You will be an integral part of a cross functional team that also assists sales with proposals and supports manufacturing at the time of production hand off.

Client Overview

- For more than 50 years, this privately-held manufacturer has become an industry leader in the field
- A commitment to innovation to meet changing application needs for both custom and standard machinery and material handling systems
- Responsible for designing new and modified equipment, sub-assemblies and parts using SolidWorks
- Perform engineering calculations for loads, weights, and stresses
- Prepare and maintain design drawings, shop prints and manufacturing job packets
- Assist sales in preparing proposal drawings of equipment
- Prepare CNC programs for machining and metal fabrication equipment
- Establish engineering standards for manufacturing
- Provide technical support to the service team as required
- Prepare cost analysis of existing products in order to establish pricing
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- More than 3 years mechanical design engineering experience preferably in a capital equipment related industry
- Proficiency with SolidWorks
- Ability to work in a cross-functional oriented setting
- Strong interpersonal as well as verbal and written communication skills
